Major benefits of yoga include:
● Improved balance
● Increased strength
● Coordination and focus
● Cognitive benefits
● Emotional well being and clarity of mind
● Effective complimentary care for anxiety, depression, and trauma
Whether you are absolutely new to Yoga or an experienced practitioner, our classes at Kula Connections will provide you with the greatest benefits that Yoga can provide!
Physically, you may see improved strength, flexibility, and balance. Recent studies even suggest that Yoga has effects as impressive as improved bone density .
Yoga Asana (the physical poses of Yoga) features holds in the traditional poses of Yoga. When these poses are held, they provide healthy stress on the body that can help to increase bone density.
Yoga also improves balance making Yoga practitioners more resistant to falls and injury when completing the actions of their everyday life.
Yoga creates strength and flexibility at the same time. Postures engage a certain type of active stretch called isometric stretching. By actively engaging certain muscles and lengthening others at the same time, Yoga leaves practitioners with improved range of motion to help them in their daily lives.
Beyond the physical effects, the major benefits of Yoga can be found in the body mind connection of Yoga that improves our mental health and cognition .
Yoga links breath, movement, and focus. This creates new neural pathways and benefits the regions of the brain associated with information processing and memory. Deep breathing in Yoga, as well as relaxing into the postures, is responsible for activating the parasympathetic nervous system which governs our relaxation and rest functions. This effect makes Yoga particularly beneficial for treating anxiety, depression, and trauma related symptoms .

Kundalini Yoga
❖ Kundalini Yoga uses Pranayama (Breathwork), meditation, and simple postures to lead the practitioner to an experience of expanded consciousness.

Yoga is a vast tradition that originated in India. Modern Yoga as we know it focuses on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, an Indian sage who lived between the 2nd and 5th centuries.
In Yoga Sutra 1.2 Patajali defines Yoga, “ Yogas Chitta Vritti Nirodha ” “ Yoga is stilling the fluctuations of the mind ”
Patanjali not only defines Yoga, but provides us with the 8 Limbs of Yoga. This is a complete system designed to bring a practitioner a single focused mind that may accurately perceive reality.

From Stanford Medicine
Sound Bath is a holistic approach to promoting overall well-being and self-care. Through a meditative practice, participants are “bathed” in soothing vibrations from instruments like gongs and singing bowls to promote:
Relaxation and stress reduction
Sound baths promote deep relaxation by activating a part of the nervous system that helps alleviate stress, anxiety, and tension.Emotional well-being
The therapeutic vibrations and frequencies used in sound baths can foster feelings of peace, contentment, and optimism, thereby contributing to improved emotional health.Enhanced sleep quality
By inducing a state of deep relaxation, sound baths can help quiet the mind and prepare the body for restful sleep, leading to improved sleep quality.Improved focus and clarity
The calming effects of sound baths can enhance mental clarity and focus, allowing participants to concentrate more effectively by removing distractions.Pain relief
Some studies suggest that sound baths may alleviate pain by releasing endorphins and distracting the mind from pain sensations, providing a natural form of pain relief. No experience is needed—simply come as you are and allow yourself to relax.

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice in which a trained practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above the body to support relaxation and the body's natural healing processes.
